Cherry Production

In Yaka region cherry is harvested in about 400 hectares with about 2.000 tonnes annual outcome. About 3% of the Greek cherry production is being produced in such a small area.

In Greece, total cherry production is about 80.000 tonnes that comes from about 14.000 hectares.

In Yaka region, there are different species of cherries with their harvesting time starting first half of May and lasting till mid of July.


Varieties: Burlat, Early Lory, Early Bigi, Samba, Sabrina, Lapins, Skeena, Z900, Ferrovia, Regina, Kordia


The combination of the surrounding weather conditions and the wisely chosen varieties results in exceptionally firm, sweet and delicate cherries.
